Yesterday we had a great time over at Jill and Ben's place, celebrating the release of the SbN Manual v2.0. 89 pages… oy. There is currently a master copy that will be available for use, and we will be doing some reformatting and printing in a 5.5 x 8.5 player's format.
Some things to keep in mind when reviewing the manual: this is a test run at some rule modifications that we think would make the game more sensible and coherent. We're going to give the rules a go for a few months, then see what changes we would like to make after that. In the meantime, feel free to bring up rules discussions on the SbN Rules Listserver - that's what it's there for!
SBN T-SHIRTS!
Simon Giles has done a masterful job in creating the main image for use on the new SbN t-shirts! The image is at the front of the SbN manual, and will be printed on XL black t-shirts. On the back there will be the phrase, "Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's difficult (Isaac Asimov), with "Saskatoon by Night" beneath it. We will be getting them printed up in the next week or so, so if you'd like one, please sign your name at the front desk.
SCENES OVER EMAIL AND ICQ
Computers… what a wonderful invention! Instant communication at loss of clarity. If you intend to do scenes or conversations over ICQ in lieu of meeting in person, be sure that your intent is clarified. It is VERY easy to misinterpret peoples' actions and intents over a limited communication medium, so people should make doubly sure that they make themselves clear.
SASKATOON BY NIGHT WEB PAGE
As a reminder, the Web page is at http://www.sfn.saskatoon.sk.ca/arts/night/sbn_main.htm.
As another reminder, the Web-folk use the phone list and your very own character write-ups to keep the Web page up to date. The phone list is created from the signup sheet. Therefore, if you don't sign the signup sheet, and if you don't write your own character writeup, we can't guarantee that you will be mentioned on the Web page at all! Note that we get your Status from the phone list also; please make sure that that's correct. Sorry, but it's a fairly big game, and the Web-folk don't do this as a full time job.
Yet another reminder; we do come around and take pictures of characters and events but again, we miss a lot. Please feel free to donate pictures of your character, other people's characters, anything game related. They will be scanned and returned to you unharmed.
