STORYTELLING TEAM CHANGES
Well, Randy has decided to hang up his Laws of the Night and
move on. "I've enjoyed roleplaying and telling a story with all of
you. Thanks!" He'll probably stick around as a creative consultant
and rules-type guy for Jill and Brock, but anything else goes directly
to the other members of the Storytelling Team. Please forward any more
Storyteller questions or concerns to Jill or Brock:

CHARACTER INFO NEEDED
There are a few people that we need some character info on.
We are missing a lot of backgrounds for people's characters; keep in mind
that until we get the backgrounds, you character cannot use Influence or
spend XP. Also, if you are on the list below, please get in contact with
Jill so we can verify and update some things:
Character sheets needed: Rob Ford, Tom O'Sullivan, Scott Ryan
INFLUENCE AND XP EXPENDITURE
We can't accept influence or XP by proxy. That is to say, if
anyone wants to use either Influence or XP, they have to EACH submit a
sheet to us. Simply signing a sheet that someone else has written up is
not sufficient, except in extreme circumstances (i.e. long distance or
something like that). Also, all Influence usage from out-of-town has to
go through the other town's Influence Narrator first, and then hopefully
their Storytellers will be able to get it to me. We can't accept Influence
from all over the world coming from a guy who says: hey...so-and-so SAID
I could use his six billion Finance Influence. Uh-uh.
LEARNING OUT-OF-CLAN DISCIPLINES
A reminder that to purchase out-of-Clan Disciplines, both parties
(teacher and student) *MUST* submit XP sheets to us telling us who learned
what from whom and when. Also keep in mind that you can only learn or teach
one Discipline at a time, and you cannot teach multiple people Disciplines
at the same time - it is a one-on-one learning process. Also a reminder
for learning out-of-Clan Disciplines. Because of the "Blood Tendency",
it takes more effort for a Kindred to learn a Discipline that is not common
to her Clan. This is reflected in both Experience Point cost and time to
learn the new Discipline. The time to learn an out of Clan Discipline is
double that of learning a Discipline that is usual for her. The additional
Experience Point and Training Time Cost is:
Basic Discipline +1 Experience Point (costs 4 Experience points and
4 weeks)
Intermediate Discipline +2 Experience Points (costs 8 Experience points
and 8 weeks)
Advanced Discipline +3 Experience Points (costs 12 Experience points and
12 weeks)
Out of Clan Disciplines ALWAYS require a teacher, and can only be learned from a member of Clan possessing it as an in-Clan Discipline.
GHOUL AND HAVEN SHEETS
Some of the details on Kindred Havens and Ghouls are somewhat
sketchy. It's kind of difficult to prevent other Kindred or Hunters from
entering your Haven when you have no security systems to speak of, and
no Ghouls to protect you! We'd like a bit more info from the players on
their Havens and Ghouls.
For Havens we'd like to know:
Character Name
Player Name
Clan
Location of Haven - please give exact street addresses if possible.
Description - old rundown house, apartment, whatever.
Security - from surveillance cameras to a brick over the door.
How do you pay for it - hope you have Resources to draw upon to pay for
that Penthouse apartment
If you are playing a Kindred who possesses any Ghouls, you should write up a Ghoul Sheet for each Ghoul that you possess, including:
Ghoul Name
Ghoul Player Name - if you have found a player for your Ghoul, insert it
here.
Regnant Name
Regnant Player Name
Clan Description - a physical description of your Ghoul.
Background - how and why the character became your Ghoul.
Duties - what parts of your Unlife is your Ghoul Responsible for?
Role-playing Tips - if a person is to role-play your Ghoul, how do you
think the Ghoul would act?
ABILITY CAPABILITIES AND COSTS
There's always been the question raised, "What use is having
more Traits in a specific Ability other than re-tests in Challenges?"
Well, we always thought that was a bit peculiar too. As mentioned in the
last Newsletter, we've been working on a system to reflect higher levels
in an Ability Trait. For example, if you have five Traits in Brawl, it
should be a bit easier for you to pull off fancy maneuvers in combat than
a guy with only one Trait. We're going to be play-testing over the next
few months to see how it works, but the end result is that you'll be able
to pull off more things with a higher level in an Ability. To reflect this
increased capabilities at higher levels in an Ability, there will be an
XP Cost adjustment for the different levels in an Ability; level one and
two cost 1 XP, levels three and four cost 2 XP, and level five costs 3
XP. More info to follow as the system develops...
