Mage Webpage updates – Please figure out who is in what Cabal and Order now?

I am trying to update the webpage, and find myself confused by who is in what Cabal and Order.  Worse, some people are confused as to which cabal and order they are in!  Please sort that kind of stuff out tonight.

Order Initiations

Joining an Order is more than just saying “Okay, I’ll be with those guys!”  All the Orders have some sort of initiation process, with different degrees of formality.  These initiations have weight both political and mystical.  If you wish to join an Order, the local members must initiate you – this doesn’t have to be a played out scene, but you should discuss what goes on and, importantly, e-mail me to let me know about Order Initiations.  Otherwise I get folks saying “dude, I’m totally a member of Order X!”, but I’ve never seen any initiation, and half the members of that Order still consider you in training.

If you decide to play out an Order Initiation in public at the game(I think it’d be quite common for Orders to have public Initiations, even if they are accompanied by more private secret rites) and make some degree of spectacle out of it, I’ll automatically award the Escalation XP to everyone who participated in the ceremony.

In the Community: SLARPCon ’08!!!

SLARPCon ’08 is running next month, and I encourage all of you to attend.  It is a wonderful fun-filled weekend of LARPs, LARPs, LARP!  Please speak to Andrew Postnikoff for details on registering for the convention.  You are also encouraged to speak to the individual Storytellers running games and let them know you intend to play.
